Glen Cannon LCPC
I have been practicing medicine for over 37 years, and have served as the president of the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association.
My experience has allowed me to treat many mental health disorders, and addiction problems for individuals and couples. Furthermore, I specialize in depression, anger issues, anxiety, and a variety of addictions/dependencies.
I use a cognitive and behavioral approach by identifying and reforming unproductive and distorted ideas/beliefs in the treatment of my patients. My ultimate goal is for each individual to make positive advances in their life. Moreover, breathing exercises along with relapse prevention and recovery plans assist my treatment process. I reinforce the healing process with a direct and supportive approach.
Each of my patients can expect an unprecedented level of compassion and support from me. I provide each individual with the tools, information, and choices to work each problem and life decision.

My training and experience as a Therapist has led me to a blend of Family Systems Theory, Psychodynamic Theory, and practical problem solving. I have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Therapy. As a Clinical Social Worker, I have a healthy respect for the impact our social environment has on us. I always hope that through my respect, caring, and humor, we can explore deeply troubling issues.
Our initial meeting would include a review of the individual’s history and the identification of the problem. Through discussion, goals will be set and a treatment plan will be developed. My purpose is to find solutions that factor into the unique qualities of the patient.
