I have been practicing Psychiatry since 1980, and am board certified in General Psychiatry with a sub-specialty in Adolescent Psychiatry. My additional expertise is in behavioral health diagnoses, cognitive behavioral therapy, and addiction treatments.
During a consultation, I utilize the latest measures and scales that allows for the most scientific diagnosis. I will explain the problem areas, the diagnoses causing the problems, and how we can overcome these issues through effective treatment. Furthermore, I provide my responsibilities as your Psychiatrist along with educating you on how your actions can assist with any treatments. I will make referrals based on your specific needs on how to benefit from seeking counsel through therapy.
I was the Medical Director for the Adolescent Programs at Provena Mercy Medical Center and Linden Oaks at Edward Hospital in addition to the Medical Director for Behavioral Health at Provena Mercy Center. Currently, I am the Behavioral Health Director of the Provena Health Systems, which is comprised of six hospital systems. During my tenure at Provena Health Systems, I have developed suicide assessments and prevention systems.
Clinical research is also an area of Behavioral Health that I am involved. I am currently the Principal Investigator at Baber Research Group, which conducts drug research for Behavioral Health Disorders.
